The State Board of Technical Education is to conduct all the Technical Examinations for the State and to award Certificates to the successful candidates. The State Board of Technical Education is empowered to frame the guidelines & directions for various examinations in accordance with the state-of-the-art of the technology by keeping the integrity of the Examinations.

The Examination wing of the Technical Education Department has , shown remarkable improvement in all aspects including conduct of Examination , Evaluation in a timely manner and declaration of results . The results of the March 2013 Examination were published with in three weeks of the conduct of the last examination. The use of OMR sheets as the facing page of the answer books has remarkably helped in reducing the time of routine tasks such as false numbering , cross verification etc. and decreasing the errors substantially.
